THE PROJECT
Vlahopol is a high-energy blues, funk, and rock ensemble that fuses instrumental mastery with raw vocal intensity. Drawing inspiration from the legendary innovations of Steve Ray Vaughan and Steve Vai, the band creates a dynamic live experience that sits at the intersection of technical virtuosity and uninhibited groove.
With roots in both vocal-driven compositions and sophisticated instrumental arrangements, Vlahopol delivers sets that balance meticulously crafted songs with moments of genuine, spontaneous improvisation—keeping every performance unpredictable and alive.
THE BAND
Mike Vlahopol | Guitar – Lord Of The Strings
A guitarist and bandleader with 35+ years of professional experience, Mike brings technical mastery across blues, funk, prog-rock, and contemporary genres. Known for commanding stage presence and innovative compositional work, he has collaborated internationally with Grammy-nominated artists and served as backstage coordinator for legendary acts including The Scorpions, Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Steve Vai, and Michael Jackson.
Marius Oprea | Bass – Mr. Funkenstain
The rhythmic foundation of the ensemble, Marius locks in the low end with precision and pocket, delivering the groovy backbone that allows the band’s improvisations to soar. His funky sensibilities drive the signature Vlahopol sound.
Alex Terbi | Drums – The Bea(s)T
A powerhouse drummer with dynamic range and responsive sensitivity, Alex anchors every performance with tight, intelligent playing. His ability to shift between structured arrangements and spontaneous musical conversations makes him essential to the band’s improvisational identity.
THE SOUND
Blues-rooted but genre-fluid, Vlahopol channels the soulful intensity of classic electric blues legends while embracing the technical innovation and harmonic complexity of modern rock. Whether delivering vehicle-driven vocal tracks or venturing into extended instrumental passages, the trio creates moments of genuine musical alchemy on stage.
